AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AND RESEARCH
To raise awareness about this issue, we made an instagram page which we filled with educational posts. This aimed to mainly spread awareness among adolescents and younger people as they use social media more frequently. This website is also part of this online campaign. We also distributed and hung around posters in our school and community and explained this issue to students. We took interviews from students, our sports teacher, headmistress, principal, disabled individuals and officials in relevant organisations to strengthen our research and provide different perspectives. Students also filled out online and physical surveys for the same purpose. We also visited Saaya Associations and Al Farabi Institute to broaden our understanding of diificulties faced by disabled individuals.
SEMINAR
Our seminar was also part of our awareness campaign. For this purpose, we collaborated with Saaya Association, which is an organisation made for and by differently abled people. Mr. Asim Zafar (CEO), Ms. Ayesha Sajid, Ms. Saiqa, and Ms. Alishba joined us at Beaconhouse Margalla Campus Islamabad. Mr. Asim Zafar shared his personal journey as a person with a disability, highlighting the challenges he faced and his achievements, particularly in the sports sector that he had also remained a part of. This seminar not only led to a change in the participants' perspectives regarding disabled individuals in sports, but also our own.
INCLUSIVE SPORTS EVENT
We collaborated with Al Farabi Institute to organise an inlusive sports event in our school ground during our school carnival. 10 differently abled students were invited and they played with abled students to enrichen their experience.
